Many French people believed in the draw… TF1 this evening misled many viewers by cutting off the retransmission of the match between France and Tunisia a little too early. The channel which broadcasts the 2022 World Cup in Qatar launched the ad when the Blues equalized… But the referee wanted it otherwise by invalidating the equalizing goal scored by Antoine Griezmann finally offside.

A few minutes of confusion followed since the channel did not broadcast the few minutes of the end of the match. Even media were misled and announced that France had snatched a draw at the last second before retracting.

France, reigning world champions and already qualified for the round of 16 before the match, finished first in their group despite losing 1-0 against Tunisia on Wednesday in Group D of the World Cup. In this group, Australia also snatched their ticket, after beating Denmark, by the same score 1-0.
