The streaming platform has decided to dispense with horror fiction after just one season.
2022 already begins with their respective cancellations and the first of them comes from the hand of Amazon Prime Video that has decided to cancel I Know What You Did Last Summer just one season, as confirmed Deadline.
The series is an adaptation of the mythical horror film of the 90s, directed by Jim Gillespie and starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, but with a more modern approach to social networks today.
The story revolves around four young men who run over a man on a highway on the night of July 4, deciding to keep it a secret and throwing the body into the sea. A year later, they receive a message from an alleged witness who claims to know what happened.
Even though it was a fairly high risk to step into an adaptation of such an iconic horror movie, its creator, Sarah Goodman, was clear that she should not feel paralyzed Faced with such a fact and continue with the project as if nothing else, as he confirmed to SensaCine in an interview:
If you’re worrying all the time while you’re trying to create something about what everyone’s opinion is going to be or whether it’s going to be disappointing, I think it would be impossible to do anything. So I had to put all of that aside and work together with the writing team on what I felt was the best and most interesting modern version.
