Andrew Garfield wants to remain Spider-Man in future movies

The actor has also broken his silence about his acclaimed appearance in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’.

Spider-Man: No Way Home finally hit theaters on December 16, 2021 and with it the long-awaited and much-rumored appearances of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man from other universes, specifically that of the other films that Sony made in its day.

Although it was a shouting secret, many fans applauded the appearance of these actors in the Marvel Cinematic Universe thanks to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man who made a break in the multiverse with the help of Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch ), as we have seen previously in other Disney + series such as Loki The What would happen if…?.

Will it be the last time we see them as Spider-Man? We don’t know anything about Tobey Maguire, but Andrew Garfield has confirmed in a recent interview with Variety that would like to reprise the role of Marvel’s arachnid superhero in future movies:

Sure, I’m definitely open to anything if it’s done right. Peter and Spider-Man both have to do with helping others, for the common good and for the majority. He is a working-class boy from Queens who knows the struggle and the loss of a loved one. He is deeply empathetic. I would try to borrow Peter Parker’s ethical framework in the sense that if I had the opportunity to step back and tell more of that story, I would have to feel very confident and self-assured.

Garfield has also taken the opportunity to thank the power to close some loose ends of his Spider-Man in Spider-Man: No Way Home and to be able to share a screen with Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire at the same time:

I’m really thankful that I was able to tie up some loose ends for the Peter I play. I love that character and I am grateful to have been able to work with these incredible actors, this wonderful director, and with Marvel alongside Sony. It was fun and a closing feeling for me. There were so many unanswered questions for my Peter where we left off. I should take a step back and heal it a bit. And also really supporting Holland’s Peter and honoring his character by completing this trilogy, without distracting or detracting from it.

De Spider-Man a los Oscar

Despite the fact that the nominations have not yet come out and that the Oscars 2022 gala will be held next March 27th, many people are cheering for Andrew Garfield’s performance in Tick, tick…Boom! on Netflix, the level of deserving a best actor nomination.

The film directed by Lin-Manuel Miranda, composer of the recent Charm, tells the story of an aspiring theater composer in New York City named Jon. Yet as his 30th birthday approaches, he is overwhelmed with anxiety wondering if his dream will actually come to pass.
