Castelnau-Barbarens. Exceptional concert

This Friday, December 3, the Escornebœuf music school is organizing, in the village hall, an exceptional concert with “Le Combo Jazz 124”, a big band playing a very varied music strongly tinged with jazz, which invites the famous trumpeter. jazz band Nicolas Gardel to accompany him. Nicolas Gardel started playing the trumpet at a very young age and was awarded a prize in the conservatories of Toulouse and Paris, where he worked with renowned musicians. He frequents the national and international stages: Jazz in Marciac, La Défense Jazz Festival, Jazz à Vienne, Montreux Jazz Festival… With his sextet “Headbangers” (two albums to date), Nicolas Gardel takes jazz to the lands of soul , funk, world, pop and electro, which is hardly surprising when you know that he grew up to the sound of Wynton Marsalis and Roy Hargrove as well as Muse, Radiohead or Alicia Keys… Thanks to his limpid and virtuoso phrasing, he makes music a universal language. And jazz, popular music above all, is for him a limitless playground on which he will improvise, accompanied by “Le Combo Jazz 124”, directed by one of his accomplices, Pascal Sansas, experienced trumpeter and multi-instrumentalist. From the beginnings of blues in New Orleans to modern jazz, including swing, bebop, or Louis Amstrong, including Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, Clifford Brown and many others… Nicolas Gardel and Pascal Sansas with “Le Combo Jazz 124” will take you into the history of this timeless music, with a few detours to rock, funk or salsa…

The concert begins at 9 p.m., admission is free. Health pass required and obeying barriers.
