Castelnaudary. The Chorus of the National Opera of the Capitol in concert

A concert by the Chorus of the National Opera of the Capitol is always an event,

so rare are the occasions to hear him outside the walls of his Toulouse theater where he brilliantly shines in the lyrical repertoire. He will perform at the Saint-Michel collegiate church with Fauré’s Requiem on Thursday March 16 at 8:30 p.m.

Regularly hailed by critics as well as by the public for the quality of its musical interpretations as well as for its stage presence, the Chœur de l’Opéra national du Capitole has today established itself as one of the most renowned opera choirs of France. The prestigious Chorégies d’Orange make no mistake about it by regularly inviting him to the Roman Theatre. It is also invited by the Radio-France Montpellier-Occitanie festival in the summer of 2022. Equally at home staging operas and in concert, the Chœur de l’Opéra

National du Capitole has a vast repertoire: opera choirs, cantatas, oratorios, masses, requiems. The programs it offers, religious or secular, are always prepared with the same search for perfection.

The program for this evening will reveal all these combined talents, both in the sacred and secular music of Gabriel Fauré. With his Requiem op.48, the composer, refusing all pathos, reaches heights of luminous beauty and peaceful serenity. As a complement to the programme, and still alongside organist Emmanuel Pélaprat, soprano Andreea Soare and baritone Kamil BenHsaïn Lachiri will perform some masterpieces by this master of French melody.
