‘Infected’ (1×02) is now available on HBO Max.
The Last of Us fans are still dealing with the deadly consequences of episode 2 titled ‘Infected’ (1×02). Just like the game that inspired it, Joel (Pedro Pascal), Tess (Anna Torv) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) make their way through an infected post-apocalyptic Boston.
During their terrifying adventure, there were a few winks from The Last of Us for the most fans. However, the game it’s based on wasn’t the only major Sony gaming franchise referenced in this episode. We talk about the wink that is made to Uncharted: A Thief’s End. Not to be confused with the Tom Holland film.
The PlayStation game and Naughty Dog, companies also after The Last of Usa small gap has been made in the HBO series thanks to the lighter that Tess uses at the end of episode 2. This same lighter is the one used by Nathan Drake’s brother in the fourth game of the Uncharted franchise.
Thanks to an image shared by the official Instagram of Naughty Dog, the lighter that Tess uses has the same 76 with two smaller stars around it which represent the year in which the United States wrote and signed the Declaration of Independence. Although it is not the first reference made to Nathan Drake’s game.
At one point in the series, Ellie is wearing a red and white baseball jersey, the same one worn by young Nathan Drake at the beginning of Uncharted 3. You can see the image of the lighter in question below:
The Last of Us Y Uncharted they have always shared a lot of DNA with each other. The videogame Uncharted 3 had an easter egg from The Last of Us in a newspaper before people knew about Joel and Ellie’s now iconic trip. However, he is primarily connected to Neil Druckmann, who worked on both highly successful franchises.
What is clear is that the series starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey is not going to have any connection or nod to the film by Uncharted starring Tom Holland and the one that received somewhat negative reviews.
