Disha Patani: Thanks to the digital medium, as it is keeping the entertainment industry running
Since the last few years, Bollywood actors and directors have been exploring a new medium that has become much popular especially in times of lockdown. From Saif Ali Khan to Sushmita Sen, actors made a foray into the digital world through web series and won popularity. Though Disha Patani is yet to try this space, she got a hint of it after her latest film, Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai, largely released on OTT in the country.
The actress feels grateful towards the medium that proved to be a savior in these tough times. Disha says, “I was looking forward to a grand release of Radhe, just like we used to have on normal days. After much hard work in making the film one does look forward to the elaborate promotions and a festive release.
However, in times like these, it feels great that your film has even released. Today things are uncertain. Time has come to a standstill and nobody knows what’s going to happen next. In such a scenario, OTT has come to the rescue. This medium is keeping the entertainment industry running as it is giving jobs to people.”
Though she is a tad bit low that today people cannot step out to watch movies in cinema halls and enjoy the community viewing experience over popcorns and cold drinks, due to the restrictions imposed because of the second wave of COVID, she feels good that people can at least get entertained in the confines of their homes. “What’s most important is the fact that people are feeling safe while getting entertained at home thanks to the web,” she signs off.
