(ETX Daily Up) – It’s the movie of a whole generation. Can “8 Mile” become THE series of the new generation? The semi-autobiographical film about the life of rapper Eminem is going to be adapted for television, and 50 Cent says so!
It’s a hell of an opportunity for rappers Eminem and 50 Cent. The “Candy Shop” singer revealed that the adaptation project had already begun: “I’m going to adapt ‘8 Mile’ for television,” he revealed to Big Boy TV. “It’s going to be huge!” he added. “Yeah and you thought I was joking, I’m very serious man! it’s going to be crazy. #bransoncognac #lecheminduroi”, he commented on his Instagram account.
50 Cent confirmed Eminem’s involvement without specifying his role in this adaptation: “I think he should be there for his legacy”.
The rapper, who has not yet revealed all the secrets of this adaptation, nevertheless indicated that he was inspired by the remake of the series “The Prince of Bel-Air”, broadcast on the Peacock streaming platform in 2022, to create a more modern version of “8 Mile”: “I want to be able to show and offer a lot more detail,” 50 Cent explained. If he has not fully confirmed it, the rapper admitted to having thought of telling the youth of the young Eminem.
For the moment, many mysteries surround this adaptation. No cast member has been mentioned nor any television channel and streaming platforms have been mentioned to broadcast this future series.
Released in 2002, the film “8 Mile” was a success both in cinema and in the world of music since the feature film won the Oscar for best original song for “Lose Yourself”, extracted from the tape original from the movie.
