This Friday, in Auch, the cult metal band Lofofora will be in concert on the Cri’art stage. With this first headliner, the IMAJ ‘association, which organizes the event, is launching its post-Covid musical season.
It should blow your mind this weekend in Auch! This Friday, the Cri’art d’Auch concert hall will welcome an essential French metal group: Lofofora. “We are relieved. This is our first big concert since March 2020 ”, rejoices Fabien Roucolle, in charge of communication for the association IMAJ’which is organizing the event.
With more than 30 years of career (the group was founded in 1989) and ten studio albums recorded, Lofofora is today considered a pioneer group in the French metal scene.
“Lofo” built its notoriety in the 2000s. The committed lyrics of singer Reuno Wangermez (54) against what he considers the absurdities of this world have largely contributed to the group’s influence in France.
Some headliners until 2022
The metal band’s concert is the first in a long series. Throughout the year, the association IMAJ ‘will offer concerts in an eclectic style. We will mention the Argentine cumbia singer La Yegros in concert on October 9 or the reggae artist Broussaï, on November 19. For lovers of beatmakers, it will be necessary to wait until winter and the arrival, on December 3, of Al-Tarba and Senbeï.
The association has also resumed its usual activities, such as the workshop “discovery and initiation to sound and light trades” or “the writing and oral expression workshop”.
A non-exhaustive list which could be developed a little more. Indeed, Cri’art has just been labeled as a current music scene (see opposite). A reward which will allow the association IMAJ ‘to establish its influence in the department.
Cri’art recognized as a “contemporary music scene”
It is a reward which has something to rejoice in the direction of the association IMAJ’qui which manages the Cri’art. The concert hall has been labeled, since January 2021, “current music scene” by the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs of Occitanie (an agency from the Ministry of Culture) for a period of four years. “It’s recognition of the work we do. This will allow us to have more financial and human resources ”welcomes Fabien Roucolle, the association’s communications officer. Concretely, IMAJ ‘will be able to multiply its activities and shine even more in the department.
