Bollywood superstars Dharmendra and Hema Malini first met in 1965 during the premiere of the film ‘Akash Mahal’. By then, Hema had released only one film, ‘Sapna Ka Saudagar’ which flopped and Dharmendra had become a star. In the first meeting, Dharmendra was attracted to Hema but he did not get any attention from Hema. After this Hema got a chance to work with Sanjeev Kumar in the film ‘Dhoop Chaon’. During the shooting of this film, Hema started liking Sanjeev Kumar.
However, due to some reason, the film could not be completed but the conversation between Sanjeev and Hema continued.
