The Canadian revealed on Instagram this Thursday to have been disfigured after an aesthetic medicine intervention.
“I was brutally disfigured by a procedure which had the opposite result to what was expected. Instead of shrinking my fat cells, it increased them, which deformed my face irreversibly.”
The former top-model confides in a publication on her Instagram account about the ordeal she has been living for several years following this intervention.
“I have entered a cycle of self-hatred”
The one who was the companion of Fabien Barthez in the 1990s reveals the terrible consequences of this intervention: “I entered a cycle of deep depression, immense sadness and hatred of myself”.
Linda Evangelista therefore decided to take legal action against the company behind this aesthetic procedure, in order to “go ahead and [s]get rid of this shame “.
She thus hopes that by making public the ordeal she is going through, she will once again be able to “leave her home. [elle], head held high, although [elle] no longer looks like what [elle] was before “.
World star in the “80s”
Raised to the rank of star at the peak of her career, she was one of the best-known supermodels in the world between the late 1980s and during the 1990s. During this decade, she posed for numerous magazines worldwide, and appears in advertising campaigns for Calvin Klein, Chanel, Chloé, Hermès, American Express, Ralph Lauren, Yves Saint Laurent, Dior, Revlon and Azzedine Alaïa.
