The Saveurs et Délices team was filming this Monday, October 11. The managers, Julie Guzman and Eric Poinçon, participate in the program The best bakery in France broadcast on M6. They made the jurors Norbert Tarayre and Bruno Cormerais taste their products.

Julie Guzman and Eric Poinçon, at the head of the Saveurs et Délices bakery and pastry shop, rue Nationale in Cahors, are still surprised at the speed with which events have unfolded. Barely a month after being contacted by the production of M6’s La Meilleure boulangerie de France show, they received the film crew on Monday, October 11. The two presenters and jurors of the show were of course present: Bruno Cormerais, best worker in France bakery, and Norbert Tarayre, chef.

“We made a pastry in front of them that we developed especially for the show, explains Eric Poinçon, the baker. But we will not reveal anything for confidentiality reasons.” To achieve this delicacy, he was supported by the bakery team. “We are accompanied by a pastry worker, a BTM pastry apprentice, an adult bakery training and a saleswoman”, details the one who has been in the flour for 15 years. “They are the ones who pushed us”, slips his partner, responsible for all the sales and management part, Julie Guzman.

On the bakery side, “we chose the product that customers prefer”

This Monday morning, Bruno Cormerais and Norbert Tarayre also tasted a product from the bakery section. “We have chosen the one that customers prefer and are used to buying,” says Julie Guzman, always remaining silent on the nature of this favorite dish. “Then they each chose to taste a product from the window.”

These different tests will allow the jury to rate Flavors and delights. “If we win this first round, we will go to the regional final to hope to represent Occitania in the national competition”, explains Eric Poinçon.

Last year at Lilu

To know the result, it will be necessary to wait for the broadcast of the show in February or March. The young couple’s customers should be numerous in front of their television sets. “They are the ones who registered us”, smiles Eric Poinçon. A great proof of recognition for the couple installed for almost a year, and whose business is now “well under way”.

Last year, the teams from La Meilleur boulangerie de France had already come to Cahors. They stopped at Les gourmandises de Lilu, where Jérôme Moulinou works, also rue Nationale. The craftsman had won the event against the neighbor Tarn-et-Garonnais, but had not managed to reach the national final.
