After Parallel Mothers, Pedro Almodóvar already has a new film in his hands and it is nothing less than the adaptation of the novel by Lucia Berline, Handbook for cleaners, of which it already has a protagonist.

As reported Variety, Cate Blanchett will star in and produce the first film entirely in English for the acclaimed Spanish director. The project is currently in the early stages of development.

Handbook for cleaners consists of 43 short stories about women who work in a wide variety of jobs, of which Almodóvar will only adapt five that will be set mostly between Oakland and San Francisco.
