Claudia Llosa is the director of this haunting story inspired by the novel by Samanta Schweblin. Starring María Valverde, Germán Palacios, Dolores Fonzi and Guillermo Pfenin, the film follows Amanda, a young mother who decides to travel to Argentina to enjoy a few days off with her daughter Nina. There he meets Clara, a woman whose son was affected after ingesting contaminated water from a lake in the area. This leads Amanda to analyze whether she will be able to protect her little girl from all the external threats that she will encounter throughout her life.
