No sequel to ‘Dune’ confirmed yet, but Zendaya and Timothée Chalamet are clear about what they want to explore

Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation of the Frank Herbert classic has not yet been released in the United States, so there are not enough figures to talk about the confirmation of the second part.

The anticipated release of Dune it has given very good results. The adaptation of the Frank Herbert classic directed by Denis Villeneuve has hit European, Asian and Middle Eastern cinemas before hitting the United States, netting more than € 115 million along the way. A figure that places it at the height of A quiet place 2 O The Warren File: Forced By The Demon. Everything seems to indicate that the long-awaited sequel – which has not yet been confirmed and depends on the results in the US – will receive the green light sooner or later.

Dune ends up leaving the story in the middle, right at the beginning of a new adventure for Paul Atreides, so viewers who have enjoyed this installment in theaters do not imagine the possibility that the story remains unfinished. The actors are also looking forward to retaking their characters. In an interview with Collider, Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya have revealed the aspect that they have learned during their experience with Villeneuve and that they will have in mind for the next shoot.

For Chalamet, a fundamental part of doing a good job is having humanity. “I think there was a temptation in understanding this archetype of heroic characters … Being curious about the origin aspects of my power, the effect on Paul … And I love that Denis focused on retaining humanity. I think it is important to me when I think of a possible sequel, “reveals the actor who plays the heir to the Atredes.

In the case of her partner, the actress recognizes that it is difficult not to think about the events that are to come. “You know books exist, so you know what’s going to happen. You think, ‘Oh, there are so many other cool things to do,” he says. When building the character, what has stayed with her are those differences between planets and the natural style that the Fremen have when moving through the desert, their natural habitat.

I’d say I enjoyed getting into the physicality of the Fremen, especially with the choreographed fighting. Each house has a very different style and they move and fight differently. I remember Denis telling me: ‘She knows every corner of her planet. It is one with the desert. He moves like a cat, gracefully. This is his house, this is what he knows. You won’t stumble if you climb a rock. ‘ I was trying to keep that in mind and move smoothly

Those cool things to come that Zendaya talks about are related to the Fremen, the natural people of Arrakis that we can get to know better in the possible sequel. We have already approached them and we have found that they are a closed community although generous with the new members they consider valid. It’s time for Paul (Chalamet) to explore that humanity that Villeneuve maintains and delve into the life of the Fremen.

When? That is yet to be seen. Dune arrives in the United States on October 22 and then we can get our hopes up.
