The actor was arrested by the Valiv police of Vasai on Friday night, June 11 for allegedly raping a five-year-old girl on the sets of a film in Vasai. According to a report in Hindustan Times, Additional Public Prosecutor Jayaprakash Patil on Monday confirmed the details of the bail plea. The report said that he disclosed that the accused had applied for bail on Saturday.
He said the bail plea came before the court on Monday. According to the report, the defense counsel for Pearl V Puri submitted before the court that the minor did not mention sexual harassment but the police have the medical report of the victim and it is on record.
Zone 2 Mira Bhayander Vasai Virar (MBVV) Police Commissioner Sanjaykumar Patil had said that the incident allegedly took place on the sets of a film in Naigaon in October 2019. According to officials, the victim’s father had lodged a complaint with the Versova police station.
The identities of the victim’s parents were leaked in the public domain on the previous day. Divya Khosla Kumar did a post and spoke openly on this issue. Later, the victim’s mother made a post on her Instagram.
