The Shonda Rhimes series for Netflix swept its premiere just a year ago. Now it returns with a new batch of episodes.
Prepare your best clothes because you have a date with the most famous Netflix family. The streaming platform has announced that season 2 of The Bridgertons will premiere on March 25, 2022 And he has done it with an adorable video of all the members of his cast – without Regé-Jean Page, of course. “Whistledown? Let’s see what this pillina has to say”says Jonathan Bailey, the actor who plays Anthony, upon receiving the announcement letter.
“Happy anniversary to high society. As this is the first anniversary, I will present you with a few lines. I hope you are interested. The Bridgertons return on March 25,” announces Whistledown in a special letter to the cast. It seems that the release date has caught fans as much by surprise as the actors themselves. Claudia Jessie, who plays Eloise, acknowledges that “I did not know anything”, like Charithra Chandran, who will be one of the new additions to fiction.
The big signing for the new episodes is Simone Ashley. The actress we all met in Sex Education arrives to play Kate Sharma, Anthony’s love interest. “Newly arrived in London, Kate is a smart and headstrong young woman who is not fooled by fools, including Anthony Bridgerton,” as described in Deadline. Fans of the books will find similarities between Kate Sharma and Kate Sheffield and that is that the two are the same characterOnly in its adaptation to the small screen it has undergone changes.
‘The Bridgertons’, bigger in its season 2: a “tough and dramatic” ending is guaranteed
Who we will see again in the series is Lady Whistledown (Nicola Coughlan), the expert in airing the dirty laundry of the best families of London’s elite. Although the viewer knows who the ‘gossip queen’ is, her identity remains a mystery to those around her. In an interview with Radio Times, Coughlan advanced that the season finale was going to be “tough and dramatic”. We don’t know what Shonda Rhimes’ team will have prepared, but it is surprising that such a friendly series has a tragic outcome.
The second season of The Bridgertons will adapt the novel titled The viscount who loved me, which leaves aside the love story of Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and the Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page) to focus on the search for a partner for Anthony, the eldest of the family. The plans of the streaming platform are to adapt each novel written by Julia Quinn into a single season and, although the literary saga consists of nine volumes, for now the fiction has been renewed for a third and fourth installment.
We will see how the reception of the new episodes of The Bridgertons next March 25, 2022 on Netflix.
