Several very interesting meetings will take place on November 25 and 26 as part of the Traveling University of Contemporary Music.
Led by “Tomorrow, from Dawn”, a cultural engineering cooperative located in the Cévennes Gard, financed by the Occitanie region and the Gard department, the Rodez Club welcomes, on November 25 and 26, the UiMA, the Itinerant Universities current music. These are professional meetings promoting meetings and the sharing of knowledge on the issues and practices within the current music sector throughout the territory of Occitania.
Friday, songs and concert
Based on the principle of popular universities, the UiMA aim to share knowledge, dialogue in a friendly atmosphere of discovery, learning, interaction and reflection. On Friday, these universities will open at 5:30 p.m. with a meeting entitled “From accessibility to artistic expression”. It is a meeting workshop around the chansigne. Or how to adapt a musical repertoire for deaf and hard of hearing audiences. It will be hosted by Laëty Tual, singer and Lucas Elzière singer of the group MoHican.
Laëty Tual is a pioneer in the process of projects involving deaf and hearing people. In all her tours, in France and abroad, when Laëty is on stage, she “changes”, the concert then becomes bilingual. She has worked alongside groups such as Djazafaz (hip hop jazz), Fumuj (hip hop/electro/rock fusion), Manivelswing (French song), Flow Démo (hip hop reggae musette) and Chel (concerts for children). Then, at 9 p.m., there will be a concert by MoHican (electro hip hop) and La Pièta (chansigne).
Saturday, young people, projects…
On Saturday, these universities will continue, at 10:30 a.m., with a round table aimed at young people. “Should we program rap to bring young people to concerts? What characterizes young people in their musical listening practices? What are our own practices?” Then at 1:45 p.m., a workshop entitled “Why want to intervene in the musical life of young people?”, which will be animated.
At 3:15 p.m., two appointments will be offered simultaneously. A workshop for artists around the financing and development of projects, and another for structures: How to find the means to develop your project? This day will end with a guided tour of the Pierre Soulages museum.
