Season 2 of ‘Euphoria’ is finally seen: Zendaya shines in the first trailer and we have a release date

The first installment of the HBO series was a real success, but the second has been waiting. Rue and Jules return in January. Take note of all the details.

It’s been long overdue, but season 2 of Euphoria already has a release date on HBO after having become a true ‘hit’ with the debut of the first in summer 2019.

As you will remember, the renewal for a second installment did not take long to arrive after the excellent reception, but the paralysis of the industry by Covid-19 turned the production plans upside down and in the end there will be almost three years that separate both seasons. However, although since the heartbreaking scene on the train tracks that ended the first season we have wanted to know how the story continues, with an official and final premiere date to write down our calendars for the new year, the remaining wait is faced with more illusion.

AND Take note now, because it’s just around the corner: Sunday, January 9, 2022. At the moment it has not been confirmed, but we can count on it being available in Spain the next day for HBO Max subscribers.

Starring Zendaya and Hunter Schafer absolutely brilliant in their roles, the series created by Sam Levison managed to captivate audiences and critics completely with its dark tale of adolescence and even won three Emmy Awards in the first edition of the awards in which I was eligible: One of them for Zendaya herself, for her role as Rue. Now, we will see them both in the skin of their characters, but she is definitely the actress of Dune and Spiderman the one that shines completely in the first trailer for season 2 of Euphoria that HBO has shared and what you can see on these lines.

However, let’s not be fooled by the first seconds, in which a rhythmic Rue gives everything for her house to the rhythm of Frank Sinatra’s “Call Me Irresponsible”. After the sympathetic start, the progress gives way to new scenes of the young woman and the rest of the protagonists in the self-destructive atmosphere and attitude that was so addictive in the first season. They are accompanied by Rue’s characteristic tormented voice:

When you are younger, everything seems permanent. But as you get older, you begin to realize that nothing is. And that everyone they love can walk away

Thus, we have no doubt that Rue will continue to suffer the loss of her friend Jules in the new episodes, although we will have to wait for the official trailer to learn more details about the rest of the plots that will make up the new season. The new episodes also include some cast members: Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights), Dominic Fike and Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr.

One of the many series affected by the industry shutdown as a result of Covid-19, the start of filming for Season 2 scheduled for March 2020 was inevitably postponed and, as a consequence, all the team’s plans and HBO for the premiere of the new episodes. Shortly after they would be confirmed, yes, two episodes that would serve as a bridge between both seasons and that would serve for the long absence.

‘Euphoria’ will make up for its two years of long wait with a “brutal” season 2

Under the title ‘The striped ones are not eternal’ and ‘The perfect am * marla’ -the first dedicated to Rue and the second from Jules’s perspective-, the specials were released in late 2020 and early 2021 respectively. Nevertheless, It will be the second installment that now has a date on HBO which continues to deepen the friendship relationship between the two young women as well as in the rest of the plots, all of them marked by the darkest part of adolescence. The world of drugs, sex, violence and the dangerous monsters that accompany the protagonists in the fall into the void that involves facing a new future.
