The sequel, ‘Fury of the Gods,’ about the superhero played by Asher Angel and Zachary Levi, hits theaters in 2023.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods, the sequel to Shazam!, will hit theaters in 2023. Directed by David F. Sandberg, who was already behind the scenes in the first installment. Asher Angel and Zachary Levi return as Billy Batson and the superhero the teenage protagonist turns into by screaming “¡Shazam!” -acronym of Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles and Mercury. During the DC FanDome, both actors have presented a behind-the-scenes video of the second installment. Among the novelties: The first look at Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu.
In the sequel, Shazam’s family returns to save the world again. Now, the gang must learn to find balance in their lives as superheroes and as teenagers. And, while they are learning how to do it, two goddesses arrive who will complicate everything.
On the one hand, Mirren brings to life Wait. On the other, Liu plays Kalypso. To these two new signings must be added that of the mysterious character played by Rachel Zegler, who seems to be Freddy’s love interest, who is played by Jack Dylan Grazer. The rest of the main cast from the first installment is also back. Not only the performers who give life to the young versions of the protagonists, but also those who get into the skin of their versions of superheroes. In this way, Adam Brody returns as Freddy, Meagan Good como Darla, Ross Butler como Eugene, Grace Fulton as Mary and DJ Cotrona as Pedro. Michelle Borth, meanwhile, will not return as the adult version of Mary.
