The film was one of the most anticipated of 2017, but neither the fans nor the actors who participated in it liked the result.
Actors with such prolific careers as Ben Affleck, who is also a director, writer, and producer; they’ve seen just about everything in the film industry. Nevertheless, there is an action and fantasy film that for the interpreter was one of the worst things he has experienced in the world of cinema. So much so that it even changed his career.
Affleck gave life to bruce wayne/Batman in League of Justice. It was not the first time for the interpreter as the Gotham vigilante. He debuted as the Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and then he made a cameo in Suicide Squad before starring in the film that united the DC superheroes.
If you are already familiar with the film, you will know all the soap opera behind the scenes of the project. If not, in short, the director Zack Snyder had to fight for creative control of the film, his daughter committed suicide when the film was almost finished, the filmmaker left the project, Joss Whedon came into play and the result finale was very poorly received by the fans. And to all this we must add that the cast complained about Whedon’s treatment of them.

Affleck had plans to direct and star in a solo Batman movie, but what he experimented with League of Justice made him change his plans. “League of Justice… You can give a seminar with all the reasons why not to do it. From production to bad decisions, going through a personal tragedy and ending with the most monstrous taste in the mouth… But I was going to direct Batman and League of Justice It made me say, ‘I’m leaving. I don’t want to do any of this ever again. I’m not suitable”, has told the actor in THR.
For Affleck, working on the film made him feel like DC’s stories were “getting repetitive and less interesting.” The actor confesses that everything that happened affected him a lot:
It was the worst experience I’ve ever seen in the industry, which is full of shitty experiences. He broke my heart
And, in addition, the interpreter has also made reference to Whedon. “There was this idea of someone coming in like, ‘I’ll rescue you and we’ll do 60 days of shooting and I’ll write everything based on what you have. I have the secret.’ And it wasn’t the secret. It was hard,” he explains. Affleck has also recounted that the ‘reshoots’ of the film contributed to his alcoholism: “It was either that or jump out the window”.

Despite everything, Affleck has good words for the four-hour version of the film that Snyder released – his vision of the story – in HBO Max. “I like a lot of the stuff we did, especially the first one. [Batman v Superman]. And now, Zack Snyder’s Justice League it is my highest rated film on IMDb. Say what you want, it is the highest rated film of my career. I’ve never had one go from nadir to pinnacle. Retroactively, it’s a success“.
Although League of Justice made him want to quit, the actor changed his mind and returns as Bruce Wayn in Flash. “I finally figured out how to play that character and nailed it to Flash. The five minutes I’m there are very good”he concludes.
As was speculated, Affeck’s Batman will have a minor role in Flash. The film, directed by Andy Muschietti and starring Ezra Miller, has another Dark Knight: Michael Keaton’s. The movie hits theaters on June 16.
