Tom Hardy from ‘Venom: There Will Be Carnage’: “I would like Venom to fight everyone, even with one-year-olds”

The film directed by Andy Serkis opens in theaters this Friday, October 15.

After several delays and problems due to the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), it finally hits theaters this October 15 Venom: There will be Carnage, starring Tom Hardy and directed by Andy Serkis (Origin of the Planet of the Apes).

The long-awaited sequel to Venom we can finally see Carnage in action, one of Spider-Man’s most iconic and bloodthirsty villains. This antihero is played by Woody Harrelson, this being Cletus Kasidy, the same one who is locked up in a psychiatric hospital and whom Eddie is going to interview, or also known as Venom.

But this movie is directed this time by Andy Serkis, the king of CGI. So it’s no wonder the film contains visual effects scenes that very few movies can have. As is the case of the battle between these two symbiotes, a sequence that it took 12 days to shoot, as the director himself has explained:

It took us 12 days to shoot that sequence because there was great complexity. We did the storyboard the day before and prepared for it. Of course, the fight is not just between two symbiotes. Without saying a lot of spoilers, it also incorporates a physical fight between Cletus and Eddie, so bringing those four worlds together was a very complex thing to do.

‘Venom 2’: Who is Carnage and how he became one of the most ruthless villains in comics

In addition, in this new installment Tom Hardy, in addition to starring in it, tHe has also worked on the history of the script, something he’s very glad to have been involved in after 20 years in acting:

Acting was always my way of being involved and I have been there for 20 years, so it makes sense that you see yourself immersed in all these parts of telling the story and technical elements of the department and in integration. It is logical that everything fits. When I go to the set, it is a family habitat. It is my happy home. It’s my family. So everything goes back to the script and the communication

¿Venom and Marvel?

But since Venom belongs to Sony, it is not yet very clear if this iconic villain could interact at some point with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, a Marvel character that can be used by both Sony and Marvel due to an agreement that was reached. Which character would Hardy like Venom to fight ?:

I would love to fight with everyone, as a character. He would be the Conor McGregor of superheroes. He would fight everyone at any weight. And I would come out with my own brand of whiskey. Venom Port. But he would literally fight everyone as Venom, gladly. With anyone. Even with one-year-olds if I have to. People would see it. Yes

The actor continues to mention later that he would not fight with one-year-olds because he is not cruel at all and it sounded quite so. “I am not cruel at all. It’s pretty cruel isn’t it? I feel very bad now ”.
