Toulouse. The Saint-Sernin carillon celebrates Christmas with music

The departmental association for the promotion of the bell tower heritage and associated traditions “Carillons et Bells en 31” offers Toulouse residents the opportunity to come and listen, once is not customary, to the chimes on the occasion of the Christmas Octave in the basilica Saint-Sernin. A series of concerts where all styles are approached (religious, traditional, secular music) by this historic instrument made up of 20 bells and a manual keyboard called “punching”. We will therefore be able to hear Saint-Sernin chime, from Saturday December 25 to Saturday January 1, 2022. It will be manually rung every day from 11:45 am to 12:30 pm on the occasion of the Christmas Octave. At the helm, several musicians specializing in the instrument, including the appointed carillonneur of Saint-Sernin Maël Proudom. The concerts are free and accessible to all, free listening on the Place Saint-Sernin and live broadcast on the internet (to limit the crowds and the gatherings on the place).
