Highly anticipated by fans of the Game Of Thrones series, this “prequel” (which precedes the original story) will be released in 2022 … and it will be about blood, fire and dragons.
A dark atmosphere, ancient times, a throne, swords and the rumbles of dragons … The first trailer for “House of the Dragons” takes all the elements that made the success of “Game of Thrones”, the cult series which ended after eight seasons in 2019. No wonder that fans of the saga find familiarity there since this production corresponds to a “prequel”, that is to say that it tells what happened before the events recounted in the first series. Exactly 200 years before the Stark, Lannisters, and Targaryens quarreled over Westeros.
Announced for 2022 on the American cable channel HBO, this medieval fantasy series is in fact an adaptation of “Feu et Sang” (“Fire and Blood” in English), the last two-volume novel by Georges RR Martin, the man. behind the “Game of Thrones” saga, whose books have sold nearly 100 million copies worldwide. This new series will depict the arrival of the Targaryen clan in Westeros, on the backs of dragons. We will discover how the platinum blond ancestors of Daenerys Targaryen conquered their kingdom. There will be, unsurprisingly, a question of wars, duels and magic.
The cast includes among others Matt Smith (the first Prince Philipp of “The Crown”) or Rhys Ifans (“Notting Hill”) or Olivia Cooke (“Ready Player One”).
