Wednesday looks for herself in ‘The Addams Family 2’: “It’s the trip most teenagers take”

We spoke to Conrad Vernon, the director of ‘The Great Getaway’, the animated sequel to the most beloved clan of movies and series. The film hits the Spanish billboards this Friday, October 8.

After years, multiple TV series and movies, the Addams family continues to connect with everyone everywhere. “There is something close, but also surprising at the same time”, count to SensaCine Conrad Vernon. The director has returned to direct the animated version of the famous clan in The Addams Family 2: The Great Getaway, the sequel to The Addams Family (2019) that hits theaters this Friday, October 8th.

“In the first movie we kept them in the neighborhood and at home, in their own neighborhood. This time, we wanted to see how they would react to the people of the country,” explains Vernon. And what has the director done? Well put Morticia, Gomez, Wednesday and company in a caravan and has sent them on a journey across the country.

As Vernon adds:

As they say in the movie: ‘This country has some of the most incredible dark secrets,’ and they want to learn about all of them. They go to different destinations that other families might as well go to, but they see them through the vision of the Addams.

In addition to the road trip, Wednesday will also enter a search in which many teenagers will be able to see themselves reflected. “It’s the kind of journey most teenagers take: who am I outside of this family, and what am I going to be as an individual rather than as a member of a group?”.

Not only that. As Vernon anticipates, Wednesday discovers that her DNA does not match that of her parents and that … she may not be an Addams! “That’s the journey he’s on, discovering who he really is. Not just with his personality, maybe with a new family as well.”, Explain.

THE PROBLEMS OF EVERY FAMILY

They say, ‘Wow. I just had a fight with my teenage daughter and now I want to see how the Addams family deals with their fight with their teenage daughter.”
