TF1 rebroadcast “What did we do to the good Lord?” Sunday evening when one of the actors with the poster, the actor Ary Abittan, has just been indicted for rape.
It is one of the big boxes of French cinema in recent years. “What have we done to the good Lord?” attracted 12 million viewers at the cinema when it was released in 2014. The film tells the story of Claude and Marie Verneuil, a bourgeois couple rather old France whose four daughters will marry a Muslim, a Jew, a Chinese and a Catholic.
The role of the Jewish son-in-law is played by Ary Abittan. On November 2, the actor was indicted for rape and placed under judicial supervision after three days in police custody. A 23-year-old woman who claims to have an episodic relationship with the actor has filed a complaint. The actor did not comment.
The replay of “What did we do to the good Lord?” and the presence of Ary Abbittan was the source of many Internet comments Sunday night on social networks.
#questcequonafaitaubondieu @ TF1 In all honesty: I am very uncomfortable with Ary Abittan’s interventions. I try to ignore the news, but I can’t. Does that make me a bad person with no sense of justice? # TF1
